Jishnu Dev Varma Sworn in as Governor of Telangana
Hyderabad: Former Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura, Jishnu Dev Varma, officially took the oath of office as the Governor of Telangana on Wednesday. The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by Telangana High Court Chief Justice Alok Aradhe at Raj Bhavan, with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, his cabinet colleagues, and Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy in attendance.
In his first address as Governor, Varma expressed his gratitude to the President and Prime Minister of India for the trust placed in him. "It is an honor to serve as the Governor of Telangana, a state known for its vibrant culture, resilience, and spirit of innovation," he stated.
Varma emphasized his commitment to prioritizing the education and empowerment of youth, noting that they are the state's greatest assets. "By ensuring access to quality education and opportunities, we can secure a brighter future for Telangana," he said. He also stressed the importance of providing accessible healthcare to all citizens, including preventive measures and public health initiatives.
Concluding his speech, Varma called on the people of Telangana to work together in building an inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future for the state.
