KCR Daughter's Response: Summoned For Questioning In Delhi Liquor Policy Case
In a letter to the Enforcement Directorate, K Kavitha, the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, requested that her questioning in the purported liquor scam case be delayed. She stated that she would appear before the organisation on March 11. She assured him that you could count on my complete cooperation in this issue.
Ms Kavitha requested that her questioning be postponed by citing previous obligations. She is anticipated to participate in a protest against the Women's Reservation Law at Delhi's Jantar Mantar.
"I want to exercise my legal privileges as a woman in this country and a responsible Indian citizen. Furthermore, I need to comprehend why I was called at such short notice. It appears that some political goals have been disguising themselves as an inquiry. "In a statement, she stated.
The Central Bureau of Investigation interrogated the Bharat Rashtra Samithi chief in Hyderabad for more than seven hours on December 12. The CBI claims that alcohol firms were engaged in formulating Delhi's 2021 excise policy, for which a liquor lobby it has dubbed the "South Cartel" paid kickbacks totalling 30 crore rupees.
According to the central investigation agencies, Ms Kavitha is a member of the "South Cartel" that profited from kickbacks in Delhi's now-retracted liquor policy, which led to the arrest of Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia.
She has been contacted to face Hyderabad-based businessman Arun Ramchandran Pillai, who the Enforcement Directorate alleges is a frontman for the "South Cartel" and was detained earlier this week, according to sources cited by Press Trust of India. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Ms Kavitha's erstwhile accountant.
The state BJP has attacked Ms Kavitha and charged her with dodging questions.
"Please comprehend the chronology, Aap chronology, Samjiye. Due to Ms Kavitha's dominance in the party at the time and her position as an MP for Nizamabad, the KCR administration did not have a single female minister in its cabinet from 2014 to 2018, "Arvind Dharampuri, a BJP member, tweeted.
