KCR Urges BRS MLAs to Respect the People's Mandate

On Monday, BRS President and acting Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao appealed to party members to gracefully acknowledge the people's mandate and relinquish power. Despite the BRS being constitutionally entitled to remain in power until January 16, Rao encouraged party leaders to provide essential support, facilitating the formation of a new government in the state.
During a meeting with the recently elected BRS MLAs at his Erravelli farm house, Chandrashekhar Rao announced an upcoming party general body meeting at Telangana Bhavan to assess the election results. He informed them that the BRS Legislative Party leader would be elected soon, advising them to allow adequate time for the Congress to form a new government and settle in.
Rao congratulated the newly elected party MLAs and commended the hard work of all party leaders during the Assembly polls. The MLAs expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the people of Telangana and pledged to continue strengthening the party. Earlier in the day, BRS working president KT Rama Rao held a meeting with the newly elected BRS MLAs at the party headquarters in Telangana Bhavan. He congratulated them on their victory and urged them to remain accessible to the public at both the party headquarters and district offices.
Rama Rao informed them about an upcoming extended meeting of BRS elected representatives, including MLAs, MLCs, and MPs, to reflect on the factors leading to the party's defeat and outline future plans. The dates for this meeting will be finalized and announced shortly. Rama Rao emphasized that, despite the mandate going to another party, the BRS received respectful strength in the Assembly, and as a responsible opposition, they must fulfill their duties. He highlighted the overwhelming positive response from the people in support of the BRS leadership after the elections and urged all MLAs to be available at the party headquarters, similar to their accessibility over the past decade at the Secretariat and Pragathi Bhavan.
MLC K Kavitha and other senior leaders also attended the meeting. However, confusion arose over the absence of Medchal MLA Ch Malla Reddy, Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajasekhar Reddy, and LB Nagar MLA D Sudheer Reddy at the legislators' meeting. Malla Reddy explained that a communication gap led to their absence but expressed their commitment by promptly joining their colleagues for the meeting with Chandrashekhar Rao at Erravelli.
