KCR tenders resignation to Governor Tamilisai Soundarajan
Following the Congress party's victory in the Telangana assembly election, where they have secured 32 seats and are leading in 32 more, the hopes of CM KCR for a third consecutive victory and government formation have been dashed.
The BRS has won 15 seats and is leading in 24, while the BJP and AIMIM have secured 4 and 2 seats, leading in 4 and 5 seats, respectively. In light of the Congress's decisive lead, CM KCR submitted his resignation to the state's Governor Tamilisai Soundarajan through his Officer on Special Duty (OSD) on December 3.
There is a possibility that Governor Tamilisai may request KCR to continue as the caretaker Chief Minister until the formation of the new government, though KCR's response remains uncertain. A delegation of Congress representatives is expected to meet the Governor to present the list of winning candidates and assert their capability to form the government. Meanwhile, Karnataka Deputy CM Shiva Kumar plans to meet the victorious Congress candidates tonight.
