KT Rama Rao Criticises Revanth Reddy, Accuses Government of Failures
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao launched a sharp attack on Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, criticizing his reported remarks about enjoying opposition criticism. Rao described the statement as insensitive and inappropriate, particularly at a time when citizens are facing various challenges.
Speaking at a gathering in Kalwakurthy constituency, Rama Rao accused the Congress-led government of failing across multiple sectors. He alleged that farmers were facing distress due to delays in crop procurement and weakening of welfare schemes like Rythu Bandhu. According to him, inefficiencies in procurement centers were forcing farmers into distress sales.
Rama Rao also raised concerns about delays in fee reimbursement for students, claiming that many educational institutions were withholding certificates and restricting access to classes due to unpaid dues. He noted that the scheme, introduced during YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s tenure, had functioned effectively under previous governments but was now being neglected.
He further criticized the government for allegedly ignoring key irrigation projects, including the Palamuru-Rangareddy scheme, despite significant borrowing. According to him, there has been little visible progress in development work.
The BRS leader also pointed to issues in power supply and delays in welfare payments, arguing that these shortcomings have eroded public confidence. He questioned whether the Chief Minister had fulfilled his electoral promises, stating that many commitments remain unimplemented.
Rama Rao asserted that the opposition would continue to highlight public issues and hold the government accountable, emphasizing the party’s commitment to representing people’s concerns both in and out of power.
