K.T. Rama Rao Helps Rescue Stranded Gulf Migrant from Muscat
BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) once again showcased his humanitarian spirit by helping repatriate Balasani Gouraiah, a Gulf migrant from Baswapur village in Sircilla district, who was stranded in Muscat after being deceived by an agent.
Gouraiah had travelled to Muscat two months ago seeking employment but soon discovered he had fallen victim to a recruitment scam. The company not only failed to pay him the promised salary but also confiscated his passport, leaving him trapped and helpless in a foreign land.
In desperation, Gouraiah recorded a selfie video detailing his ordeal and shared it through local WhatsApp groups. The video quickly caught the attention of K.T. Rama Rao, who immediately intervened. On October 12, KTR reached out to the Indian Embassy in Muscat, urging officials to take swift action to rescue the distressed worker.
Responding to his request, the Embassy worked with local authorities to retrieve Gouraiah’s passport and arranged financial assistance to cover his travel expenses. On Monday morning, Gouraiah safely arrived at Hyderabad airport, where he broke down with emotion as he reunited with his family after weeks of uncertainty.
Expressing heartfelt gratitude, Gouraiah thanked K.T. Rama Rao for his timely intervention and also acknowledged social activist Sheik Mohammad for his support in coordinating the repatriation process.
KTR’s swift response has earned widespread appreciation, reaffirming his reputation as a leader who acts with compassion and urgency in addressing the problems of Telangana’s migrant workers abroad.
