KTR Accredit a ‘Clean and Green’ Task to Collectors

Our Municipal administration and urban development minister KT Rama Rao held a video conference with the district collectors on Tuesday. He instructed them to come up with sanitation, comprehensive water usage and green action plans for all new municipalities within one week.
He also asked them to come up with new plans to recycle the waste material. He also told that the recently held 30-Day Action Plan had yielded positive results in gram panchayats. In the same way, similar plans should be introduced in municipalities as well for improving sanitation.
He said, "Like gram panchayath workers, municipal staff too must be extended insurance facilities". He told them to establish locations for dump yards, faucal sludge and sewage treatment plants, composting centers and dry resource collection points in new municipalities.
He also asked them to replace the street lights with LED lamps in new municipalities. He also wants collectors to increase the number of public toilets and toilets as the population in the municipalities is increasing.
He mentioned that the government has already arranged Swatch Autos for door-to-door collection of garbage and asked collectors to increase the possibility of staff and vehicles.
Municipal administration and urban development principle security Arvind Kumar, CDMA director T.K. Sridevi, and HMWSSB MD Dana Kishore were present in the session.
