KTR Announces Metro Rail in Old City

Hyderabad metro rail is the second longest operational metro network in India where the Delhi Metro rails stand first with 48 stations, A special purpose vehicle company, L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Ltd was established by the construction company to develop the Hyderabad metro rail. It is constructed as a 30 kilometers (19 mi) stretch from Miyapur to Nagole with 24 stations. Trains are crowded in the morning and the evening times as it is the time of the citizens working hours.

IT minister KTR informed Assembly during question hour that the previous Congress government had only accorded permission to Metro Rail alignment by removing Gun park area. He also informed that the metro rail will be started soon in the old city.

The discussion involved in the meeting was about changes in the metro agreement and delay of the work, KTR is replying to questions of the Congress leaders Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Sridhar Babu, he said that the total of 66 km length metro rail works will be completed by December. 'We are to complete the HMR project as planned despite huge funds. So far, the government invested Rs 14,132 crore for the metro rail works and Rs 3,000 crore more for land acquisition', he added.

He also said that the Hyderabad Metro Rail has so far received 80 awards, he also said that the metro rail is setting new records as many as three lakh people were taking metro rail every day.
