KTR Meets TRS Legislators To Deal With The Rebel Threat

The nominations for the municipal polls have been completed. With multiple aspirants from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) filing nominations as rebel candidates, TRS working president K. T. Rama Rao has decided to settle the issue.

KTR took upon the responsibility of counseling and convincing the rebels to work for the party’s cause. He held parleys with the Ministers and legislators to resolve issues and convince the rebels to withdraw from the fray. He asked the leaders to forget their differences and work to ensure the party candidates win the elections.

A total of 21,850 nominations were filed across the state, and the highest number of 2,392 nominations were filed for Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the Rangareddy district. As a majority of nominations are suspected to have been filed by local leaders of the TRS, the party candidates are now facing threat from their colleagues in the party. Apart from guiding them through this, KTR also warned them that rebel candidates should not be in the fray after the last date for withdrawal was over.

While asking the MLAs to deal with the rebels, he also gave them directions on the campaign approach. He said they should work out local manifestos, taking into account local issues apart from reaching out to the beneficiaries of government schemes. Exuding confidence that victory for TRS in the elections was certain, MLAs told KTR that the response was good from people. TRS has assigned ZPTC Chairpersons, MPPs, members of ZPTCs, MTPC, Sarpanches, and active village ward members as In-charges of the municipalities and wards. They will look after their nearby municipalities to ensure the victory of the party’s candidates.
