KTR Slams Congress Govt Over Lack of Flood Preparedness

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) criticised the Congress government for failing to prepare for heavy rains and floods despite advance warnings. Ahead of visiting the worst-hit districts of Rajanna-Sircilla and Kamareddy, he convened a teleconference with party MLAs, MPs, MLCs, and district presidents, urging them to step up relief efforts in areas where the government response has lagged.
KTR directed BRS cadre to take the lead in distributing food and drinking water, setting up medical camps, and ensuring sanitation in submerged localities to prevent post-flood disease outbreaks. He reminded party workers that during the previous BRS regime, proactive coordination with the NDRF and SDRF had helped minimise disaster impact.
“The government has completely failed in advance planning and relief measures,” KTR alleged, pointing out that despite clear IMD forecasts, the administration did not mobilise adequate resources. He added that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s priorities were misplaced, with reviews of non-urgent projects taking precedence over disaster preparedness.
KTR’s comments come as thousands remain displaced and flood damages continue to mount across Telangana. He urged BRS leaders and activists to stand by affected families and lead by example until government support reaches the ground.
