KTR Slams Rahul Gandhi, Accuses Revanth Reddy of Undermining Democracy
On the occasion of the International Day of Democracy, BRS working president KT Rama Rao launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of hypocrisy. He criticized Gandhi for advocating democracy while ignoring the actions of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, whom Rama Rao accused of eroding democratic values in the state.
Rama Rao pointed out that true democracy is built on accountability and not autocracy. He claimed that while Gandhi speaks of protecting democracy and citizens' rights, Revanth Reddy's administration is marked by unchecked power, suppression of dissent, and corruption. According to Rama Rao, the Congress government in Telangana has been involved in bulldozing homes, attacking journalists, and "buying" opposition MLAs.
He further extended his criticism to Congress-ruled states like Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh, highlighting policy failures. He claimed that Karnataka is raising milk prices for the third time in 18 months, while Himachal Pradesh is considering legalizing cannabis. He mocked Revanth Reddy's unfulfilled promises and called Congress's governance chaotic, autocratic, and irresponsible. Rama Rao's comments were aimed at exposing what he called Congress's double standards on democracy and governance.
