KTR criticises BJP and Congress for their vote-bank politics and inability to develop Telangana.

KT Rama Rao, minister and working president of the BRS, lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of divisive politics and failure to address the requirements of Telangana. He ridiculed the six assurances of the Congress and challenged them to identify any state governed by the Congress that was implementing them.

Tuesday at Telangana Bhavan, Rama Rao formally inducted BJP district president Koneru Chinna Satyanarayana and other leaders from the Bhadradri Kothagudem district into the BRS.

In his address, the BRS working president criticised the Modi-led BJP government for failing to deliver on its promises for the nation and Telangana in particular. "The BJP-led Centre transferred five mandals from the former Khammam district to Andhra Pradesh, handed over the Lower Sileru Hydel Power Station, and failed to implement provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act over the past nine years," he said.

Rama Rao took aim at Modi's campaign pledges, stating that the Prime Minister had not met his commitments to return black money and generate two crore jobs annually. He accused Modi of prioritising his corporate allies over public sector organisations. He criticised the BJP administration for failing to control inflation, unemployment, and the rising cost of petrol and LPG cylinders. He also emphasised the depreciation of the rupee against the dollar, despite having criticised the previous UPA administration over the same issues. He stated that the BJP has no answers to the nation's most pressing problems.

To cover up its failures, the Minister of Industries asserted that the BJP was engaging in "cheap politics" by employing diversionary tactics to retain power at the centre, including efforts to exploit communal tensions, mislead and divide the populace. "The BJP is attempting to manipulate emotions with films such as 'The Kashmir Files,' 'The Kerala Story,' and now 'Razakar Files,'" he said.

Rama Rao contrasted the administrations of Modi and K Chandrashekhar Rao by highlighting the distribution of Rs 73,000 crore to 70 lakh farmers under the Rythu Bandhu scheme. Moreover, he criticised BJP State President G Kishan Reddy for staging protests over unemployment in Telangana, despite Modi's failure to fulfil his commitment to create two crore jobs annually.

The working president of the BRS did not spare the Congress, stating that Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and other leaders were seeking votes from the citizens of Telangana despite their repeated failures to address critical issues during their eleven previous terms. He challenged the Congress leaders to name any state governed by the Congress that has implemented the six guarantees recently proclaimed for Telangana.

Rama Rao argued that the implementation of Congress's commitments would exceed the State's budget. "I am uncertain about the Congress party's six electoral promises, but I can guarantee that if the Congress is re-elected, the people of Telangana will experience power cuts, street battles over water, long lines for fertilisers, the end of Rythu Bandhu and Dalit Bandhu, political instability with a new Chief Minister every year, and a permanent dent in Telangana's economic growth," he stated.
