Kumaraswamy faces criticism, says US trip on personal expenses

This is not the first time that Karnataka Chief Minister faced criticism from other party leaders. Recently, BJP has raised questions on his upcoming US trip and alleged expenditure of taxpayers’ money for unofficial purposes. To which Janta Dal (secular) leader said, “I am traveling to New Jersey to participate in a foundation laying ceremony of Adichunchanagiri Mutt. It is not an official tour. I am traveling on my personal expenses”.
Earlier, he faced criticism from the Opposition on his stay at villagers’ homes. He reacted to this allegation by saying, “In a school in Yadgir, I saw a slogan stating ‘silence is the only answer for the meaningless question”. Congress leader M Veerappa Moily had said to him that, “Simply sitting after becoming a chief minister or minister does not work. It is important to concentrate on schemes and their implementation. Chief Ministers or ministers roaming around in villages does not work,”
Kumaraswamy was also portrayed as a “five-star Chief minister” after BJP reportedly raised questions over him conducting official meetings at a five-star hotel. This hotel is situated near his official residence in Bengaluru. However, he was not bothered by this allegation and said to work as per his will.
