Last Minute Changes to Valmiki Movie Title

Varun Tej upcoming movie "Valmiki" has been released today. The movie is directed by Harish Shankar and produced by the Ram Achanta and Achanta Gopinath. It is a remake of Tamil movie Jigarthanda, and it is a gangster comedy entertainer under 14 reels plus banner. The movie cast includes Varun Tej, Atharvaa Murali and Pooja Hegde.

However the films are facing issues since the second it shares its title, Members of Boya community have filed a petition in the court to change the title. The appeal was filed by a Gopi Boya Meenaga of Boya Hakkula Porata Samithi stating that the title of the movie hurt the sentiments because the name of a great Saint is given to the hero of the movie who is playing a character of a rowdy.

When asked to Harish about the appeal he said the court will take care of it. He said he doesn't want to talk because it is about the law and hopes that the court will pass the right orders. However, Valmiki is released today and the High Court of Telangana has sent notices to the makers to change the title immediately. Therefore the movie makers changed the title to "Gaddalakonda Ganesh", which is the name of the Hero's character.
