Meet the 5 Startups that have put Hyderabad Entrepreneurial Map to the Next Level
Hyderabad is the second-largest IT exporter in India and also the capital and largest city of the Indian state of Telangana.
Historically, Hyderabad was once a pearl and diamond trading center, started with a single multi-storied building named cyber towers in 1998, has now become one of the most attractive IT destinations in India expanding to a sprawling 250-acre division named HITEC city.
With a sudden rise of emerging startups in Hyderabad, The capital of Telangana is now a significant startup hub and is home to 1,940 startups, according to a recent report by TiE Delhi-NCR and consulting firm Zinnov.
Taking in all its potential, TeluguVoice has decided to take a quick look at some of the Hyderabad’s startups that are raising their game in the ecosystem.
Jay Robotix
A small Start-Up based in Hyderabad, Jay Robotix Learning India Private Limited founded on 21 April 2015 by Mohan Krishna and Sudhir Reddy, has evolved as one of India’s few multidimensional robotics firms in Telangana state within a short span of time. The company develops and deploys robotics-based products for school and college students and to various sectors such as industrial and defense.
The startup company also received angel funding of $250,000 in 2015, and soon it started increasing the growth and company now headquartered in Singapore, with 60-member team runs the operations from Hyderabad.
The company also provides services to more than 300 schools and two lakh students with the Robox programmes in the major metropolitan cities Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata, Kanpur, and over 20 cities from Tier II and III regions in India and also across the six countries i.e., Bahrain, Qatar, Malaysia, and Oman by making a total revenue of $2 million since inception. The company is also planning to launch the B2B2C and B2C avenues to try and see if exponential growth is possible,” Mohan says.
TruePush
Another Hyderabad based startup - Truepush Pvt. Ltd., founded by Ravi Vaka & Manoj Surya in 2018, offers feature-rich, free-forever push high volume notification tool for Web & Mobile and easy-to-use dashboard to boost engagement to give the highest ROI for the user.
This startup claims, in less than 100 days of their public launch, a total of 2,100 users have been registered of their public launch, and their clients are sending more than 100Mn notifications every month with the constant growth.
TruePush has already reached more than 42 million devices without spending a single penny on marketing and now is aiming to reach for another 100 million devices by 2020.
This startup has also worked with the Govt. of Telangana for the Government Mentor Programme. TruePush currently employees a team of 9 and is backed and funded by tech marketing company Way2Online currently and has no plans of raising funds in the future.
Neeman’s
Hyderabad-based startup Neeman is the first in India to use Merino Wool, a particular breed that can only survive in extremely cold conditions of New Zealand and Australia to make a shoe.
This startup was founded in 2017 by Taran Chhabra and Amar Preet Singh, and their main focus is to achieve the mission with Neeman’s shoes by creating a culture of comfort, lightweight and sustainability shoes using natural fibers.
The founders spent nearly two years in research and development and started with the initial thought of designing a multi-purpose shoe, but later came up with three more styles of men’s shoes – sneakers, joggers and loafers.
The company already sold more than 1,200 units until last year and planned the sales up to 1,000 units every month, and also planning to roll out shoes for women and kids in 2019. Neeman is also planning to set up pop-up stores in select locations in India for a better experience and also set up exclusive stores by the end of 2019.
Authblue
Authblue is a DIPP-recognised startup platform. It is an online marketplace that helps in connecting businesses and individuals with companies and conducts background verification of blue-collar workers for both B2B and B2C customers in India.
It was founded in 2018 by Sujeet Buddiga and Saurabh Tiwari. With a team of five, this startup has clients from across the country registered on its platform.
Just in a span of five months, the company has served more than 20 businesses and partnered with more than ten gated communities. It has processed more than 3,000 different checks offering over 10 different types of verification for both businesses and individuals starting from as low as Rs 5 for instant verifications and made up to 1,000 B2C signups so far.
Authblue has raised an undisclosed seed funding led by a group of undisclosed investors and they currently tied up with JantaKhoj, Info Quest, Dcode and Icrest.
The company plans to build processes and facilitate more related jobs in the blue-collar sector and planning to get into training and hiring of the blue-collar workforce as well.
SkinKraft
Hyderabad-based SkinKraft is India’s only customized skincare line was founded in 2017 by Chaitanya Nallan, Veerendra Shivhare and Sangram Simha with a mission to provide customized and world-class skincare suited for Indian skin using data-driven formulations.
SkinKraft started online sales in mid-2018 with regimen kits starting at Rs 999 per month
According to the SkinKraft founders, all the products are backed by over 10,000 hours of intensive research and collaboration with Indian, Taiwanese, and Japanese dermato-cosmetologists, pharmacists, and pharmaceutical engineers.
The founders of SkinKraft claims that their startup has grown to $8 million in an annual run rate in a very short span of time and is already profitable with a growth rate of up to 40% month on month.
