Modis Interim Budget Misses about Jobs
Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power in Central Government Elections conducted in 2014. One of the major promises Modi made to win the elections like so many that he would create jobs. The belief went on the large groups of youth and brought Modi to power hoping to get jobs.
However, years passed off waiting for the jobs to come but Modi Government fell short in accomplishing the stated promises. The issue became sensitive after observing a leaked stat about the percentage increase in the Unemployment rate over the decade which BJP government is trying to hide.
The stat leaked in one of the local newspapers mentioned a rise in the unemployment rate in its 4 decades. The number says it is 6.1% in the year June 2018.
Modi’s promise of providing 10 million jobs each year to the youth in the last election manifesto failed heavily. Recent budget release by Piyush Goyal mentioned that employment opportunities of 20 million have been provided in two years but there is no labor survey depicting the results confirmed it.
Most of the interim budget released last week considered on Consumer utility and to the need of farmers but nothing could relate itself directly to that of with providing jobs.
As the elections are coming due in May lets see what Modi comprises himself with the words mentioned about providing Jobs last elections and how he maintains his credibility to go for the upcoming elections.
