Monalisa Bhosle Pregnancy Claim Adds Twist to Ongoing Legal Case
The case involving viral Kumbh Mela personality Monalisa Bhosle has taken a new turn after her husband, actor Farman Khan, informed police that she is pregnant and unable to appear for questioning. Authorities are currently verifying this claim as part of their ongoing investigation.
Monalisa and Farman had earlier married in a temple in Kerala, a union that drew widespread attention due to its interfaith nature and allegations regarding her age. Monalisa had stated that she faced emotional pressure from her family to marry her cousin, whom she considered a brother, and credited Farman for supporting her.
However, the situation became legally complex after her family alleged that she was a minor at the time of marriage. Following these claims, a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered against Farman. The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) also concluded that Monalisa was underage based on medical records, which indicated she was around 16 years old at the time of the wedding.
The Kerala High Court has granted interim relief to Farman Khan, staying his arrest until May 20. Meanwhile, Monalisa had earlier approached police in Thiruvananthapuram, expressing her desire to live with her husband and alleging coercion from her family.
Authorities are now expected to seek medical confirmation of the pregnancy before proceeding further. The case continues to draw public attention due to its sensitive mix of legal, social, and cultural issues, including interfaith marriage, age verification, and personal autonomy.
