N. Chandrababu Naidu Condemns Rising Violence in Andhra Pradesh, Calls for Police Accountability
Former Chief Minister and TDP leader, N. Chandrababu Naidu, expressed grave concern over the escalating violence in Andhra Pradesh under the leadership of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. Naidu criticized the deteriorating law and order situation, stating that goons have gained control across the state, leading to a breakdown in governance.
In a press release, Naidu highlighted the recent violent incidents in Martur and Kovvur as stark examples of the deteriorating situation. He went on to demand the voluntary retirement of the Director General of Police, holding the police leadership responsible for the chaos. Naidu also remarked that District Superintendents of Police had lost the respect they once commanded.
Naidu called for bureaucrats, who are paid from public funds, to introspect and adhere to established norms. He emphasized the need for police officers and bureaucrats to function within the boundaries of the law. Naidu asserted that the people would deliver their verdict in a few months, and the judiciary would hold those responsible for the chaos accountable.
The TDP leader's statement reflects growing concerns over the state's governance and the need for immediate corrective action.
