Naidu Criticizes Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy
In a recently presented white paper, former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu compared his successor, Jagan Mohan Reddy, to Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, claiming Reddy's policies turned Andhra Pradesh into the drug capital of India. Naidu asserted, "I am the senior-most politician in the country and have never seen a situation like it was in Andhra when Jagan was in power. There was only one person who can compare to what happened in Andhra, drug lord Pablo Escobar."
The white paper compared the law and order situation from 2014-19, when Naidu was in power, to 2019-24, under Reddy's leadership. Naidu presented statistics showing increased targeting of political rivals and false cases against them. He accused YSRCP leaders of terrorizing people and curbing political activities and free movement of political leaders. "You would have seen what kind of law and order situation was prevalent in Andhra Pradesh during Jagan's government," Naidu said.
He also claimed that Andhra Pradesh had become the "Ganja capital" of India under Reddy's rule. "Ganja is easily available in every single village in Andhra Pradesh now. Has the former chief minister ever addressed the issue during his tenure?" Naidu questioned.
