Naidu Highlights Visionary Governance and Welfare Policies at Assembly Address
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reiterated the Telugu Desam Party-led National Democratic Alliance’s (TDP-NDA) commitment to welfare, development, and good governance during his address to the Assembly on Wednesday. Reflecting on the progress made in the first 162 days of his government, Naidu emphasized his administration’s focus on improving the living standards of the people through the implementation of the “Super-Six” schemes promised in the TDP’s election manifesto.
The Chief Minister credited the foundation of welfare in Andhra Pradesh to TDP founder N.T. Rama Rao, recalling iconic initiatives like the ₹2-per-kg rice scheme, which has since been adopted nationwide, and programs for building pucca houses for the poor. Naidu underscored his government’s efforts to continue this legacy while adopting modern technologies to make services accessible and efficient.
Key Initiatives Highlighted by Naidu:
Super-Six Schemes: Welfare programs aiming to uplift various sections of society.
Digital Accessibility: Introduction of over 150 citizen services through WhatsApp, including a facility for farmers to sell grains directly.
Deepam-2 Scheme: Support for 42.4 lakh gas cylinder consumers, ensuring subsidies are credited within 48 hours of booking.
Job Creation: Plans to fill 16,347 vacant teaching posts and offer incentives to companies creating jobs in the state.
Jal Jeevan Mission: Assurance of safe drinking water for all households.
Naidu condemned the previous government for mismanaging funds, including central grants, and vowed to restore public trust by implementing transparent governance. He assured the House that the focus remains on women’s safety, strict law enforcement, and a robust economy.
Reflecting on his four-decade political journey, Naidu spoke emotionally about the challenges he faced, including a life-threatening attack with claymore mines and personal humiliations in the Assembly. However, he affirmed his resilience and commitment to building Andhra Pradesh “brick-by-brick.”
Naidu, who became Chief Minister for the third time after the TDP’s decisive win in June, described the people’s verdict as a revolutionary mandate for development and welfare. He emphasized that while achieving progress takes time, his government is unwavering in its mission to meet the expectations of Andhra Pradesh's citizens.
