Naidu Warns Cabinet Against Involvement in Sand Mining, Stresses Transparency
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu warned his cabinet colleagues on Tuesday, advising them to refrain from any involvement in sand mining. Following a cabinet meeting, Naidu emphasized the need for a transparent implementation of the free sand policy, insisting that neither ministers nor MLAs should interfere politically.
Naidu highlighted that during the previous term (2014-2019), despite providing sand free of cost, the government faced public criticism due to the involvement of some MLAs in sand transportation. He stressed that such issues should not reoccur and warned that he would not hesitate to remove ministers from the cabinet if found in sand mining activities.
Naidu also urged ministers to stick to their respective portfolios and avoid interfering in others' responsibilities. He specifically addressed confusion caused by Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad's recent social media announcement about free bus travel for women, a scheme managed by the transport ministry. Naidu reiterated the importance of concentrating on one's own areas of responsibility.
Additionally, Naidu asked the ministers to ensure unity within the party by including senior leaders who did not secure cabinet positions to prevent internal conflicts.
