Nara Lokesh Seeks Union Support for Skill Development Initiatives in Andhra Pradesh
Minister for Human State Development, IT, Electronics, and Communications Nara Lokesh has called for the Union government's cooperation in conducting the government’s first-ever Skill Census to Pradesh's workforce. This initiative is part of a broader plan to create 20 lakh jobs over the next five years.
During his visit to Delhi, Lokesh met with Jayant Chaudhary, Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary of the National Skill Development Corporation. He presented the SState's ambitious Skill Census project and sought assistance setting up Central Skill Development Centres.
Lokesh further proposed establishing the Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) and India International Skill Centre (IISC) in Amaravati and a National Skill Training Institute in Visakhapatnam on a seven-acre site previously allotted for the purpose.
The minister emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between the State and Union governments to enhance skill development and boost employment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh.
