Nara Lokesh's Campaign Highlights Issues and Hopes for TDP in Andhra Pradesh
Nara Lokesh, TDP’s national general secretary and former IT minister of Andhra Pradesh, concluded his 3,132 km 'Yuva Galam' padayatra, aiming to garner support for his party while showcasing his leadership prowess. In an interview with DH's S N V Sudhir, Lokesh expressed optimism about a potential TDP-led NDA alliance sweeping the state polls.
Highlighting prevalent issues, Lokesh cited youth discontent over job prospects, escalating living costs, neglected infrastructure, and the rise of ganja under Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy's tenure. He asserted confidence in winning the Mangalagiri seat, despite TDP's historical struggles in the constituency, citing extensive grassroots efforts and welfare initiatives.
Responding to allegations of joining forces with Jana Sena due to fear of facing CM Reddy, Lokesh analogized the situation to confronting a robber, emphasizing the collective responsibility to oust what he perceives as a corrupt regime.
Regarding welfare schemes and debt concerns, Lokesh defended TDP's approach, emphasizing the need for balanced development and welfare initiatives, including a promise to generate 20 lakh jobs to boost the state economy.
Addressing accusations of vendetta politics, Lokesh clarified his intent to uphold the law without resorting to false accusations, despite facing numerous legal challenges himself. He dismissed allegations of vendetta, instead vowing to hold accountable those who breach the law.
