New STP in Kokapet to treat sewage and improve the environment
Hyderabad, June 30: Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister KT Rama Rao will inaugurate a 15 MLD (million liters per day) capacity Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Kokapet on Saturday.
The STP is located at Kokapet Knowledge City and has been constructed for Rs 66.16 crore. It will treat sewage generated from the Knowledge City and surrounding areas. The treated water from the plant will be used for irrigation purposes.
The STP is a major Telangana government endeavor to improve the city's water quality. It will help to minimize pollutants and improve the environment in the nearby communities.
The plant's inauguration ceremony will take place on Saturday at 11 a.m. Senior officials from the MA&UD department will accompany the Minister.
The STP is one of many being built in Hyderabad as part of the government's plan to improve the city's water infrastructure. Amberpet, Nacharam, and Gachibowli are the other STPs.
In addition, the government has taken initiatives to increase the efficiency of current STPs. STP capacity is being enhanced, and new technologies for sewage treatment are being deployed.
Citizens applaud the government's efforts to enhance the water quality in Hyderabad. They hope that the new STPs will aid in the resolution of the city's water issues.
