Nine-Year-Old Nara Devaansh, Son of Nara Lokesh, Sets World Record in Chess

Nine-year-old Nara Devaansh, son of IT minister Nara Lokesh and grandson of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, has set a world record in chess by solving 175 checkmate puzzles in the shortest time.
The World Book of Records, London, officially recognized Devaansh's achievement, naming it the 'Checkmate Marathon'. The event involved Devaansh solving increasingly complex checkmate puzzles from László Polgár's renowned chess compilation, "5334 Problems, Combinations, and Games," within a stringent timeframe.
Under the guidance of coach K. Rajashekar Reddy, Devaansh dedicated 5 to 6 hours daily over six months to prepare for this feat. His father, Nara Lokesh, expressed pride in his son's dedication, stating, "I've seen Devaansh train with laser-sharp focus and passionately embrace the sport. He's inspired by stellar historic performances of Indian chess players in the global arena."
In addition to the chess record, Devaansh accomplished two other feats: completing the 7-disc Tower of Hanoi in 1 minute and 43 seconds, and arranging nine chessboards with all 32 pieces in their correct positions within 5 minutes. These achievements were thoroughly verified by adjudicators from the World Book of Records, London.
Devaansh's accomplishments highlight the potential of young talent in India, demonstrating that with dedication and proper guidance, remarkable achievements are within reach.
