OYO to Invest Rs 100 Crore in Visakhapatnam!
OYO Hotels & Home entered Vishakapatnam in November 2016 and now, it is planning to expand its operations in the city. The company aims to invest Rs 100 crore towards capex, infrastructure and talent in Visakhapatnam in the near future. OYO also said in a statement that it targets to create over 5,500 direct and indirect employment opportunities for hospitality professionals in Andhra Pradesh in the next one year. For now, OYO has 100 hotels and 1,950 rooms in Visakhapatnam and 289 hotels and 6,300 rooms in AP.
Aditya Ghosh, CEO - India and South Asia, OYO Hotels & Homes said that Visakhapatnam is a key market for them and is doing well since launch. Being the largest city and the economic hub of Andhra Pradesh which is one of India’s fastest-growing states, Andhra Pradesh definitely helps OYO to improve its business. “We continue to invest in expanding our footprint and serve thousands of customers in the city,” he added. Aditya Ghosh also revealed that their target is to have at least 10 OYO Townhouses in the city by the end of 2019. Since the launch, Oyo has worked closely with small and independent hotel owners and helped them to improve guest experiences in different ways.
“In the coming year, we aim at strengthening these partnerships and support the state’s vision while creating and delivering outstanding continuously opportunities for business growth, fostering all-round socio-economic development for the State and its people,” Aditya Ghosh added. He also revealed Dwarakanagar, Gajuwaka and MVP Colony in Vizag are among the top-performing hubs that are hosting the highest number of guests. OYO is currently providing its services across 300+ cities in India across 10,000+ leased and franchised buildings and over 200,000 rooms.
