On 75th Independence Day Mahatma Gandhi Temple See Sincrease Number Of ‘Devotees

During the country's 75th anniversary celebrations, there has been an increase in footfalls to a temple dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi in this district in Telangana, as villagers flock to have his 'darshan' and seek blessings.
The Mahatma Gandhi Temple is becoming a sentiment for many people around Chityal town in Telangana, about 75 km from Hyderabad.
PV Krishna Rao, Secretary of the Mahatma Gandhi Charitable Trust, which maintains the shrine, says the first-of-its-kind temple in Pedda Kaparthy village is drawing attention from even far away places.
As a result of the Telangana government and the Centre's initiatives to celebrate the 75th anniversary of independence, the temple usually receives 60-70 visitors on a normal day but has now seen 350 devotees.
He said though the temple which was built in 2014 does not offer any special programmes marking the Independence Day on August 15, it organises special pujas on October 2, Gandhi Jayanti.
He said the temple is slowly gaining prominence with people regularly coming and offering prayers along with their family members.
