PM Modi Oversees Response to Ahmedabad Air India Crash

A London-bound Air India flight crashed shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad, triggering a massive emergency response. The aircraft, carrying over 200 passengers, went down near the Meghaninagar area, causing widespread panic.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi immediately got in touch with Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu and instructed him to oversee rescue operations personally. Naidu, who was in Vijayawada for an event, rushed to Ahmedabad to coordinate efforts on the ground. The Prime Minister directed all relevant agencies to act swiftly and ensure medical aid and emergency support reach the victims and their families. Dramatic visuals from the site showed heavy smoke and rescue teams working amid debris.
Air India Chairman N. Chandrasekaran confirmed the crash and expressed his deep sorrow, stating that the airline is fully cooperating with emergency services. An emergency centre has been activated to help affected families. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Airport Authority of India (AAI), and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have mobilized to manage the situation. Although the cause of the crash is still under investigation, authorities are prioritizing rescue and relief operations. PM Modi emphasized the importance of constant updates and maximum support to all those impacted.
