PM Modi Virtual Meet With Sundarpichai, Google’s Huge Investment In India
Google has announced an investment of Rs 75,000-crore to help accelerate India’s digital economy in India over a period of 5-7 years.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held a discussion with Google and Alphabet chief executive SundarPichaito discuss on various topics including the investment part for the digitalization in India.
Google will hold its sixth annual event, Google for India today and for the first time, it will just be a virtual event due to the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the reports, Google, in the meet shall announce about the event will aim to unlock “new opportunities as India heads into a new, digital-first future”.
Rs 75,000 crore investment will focus on help in enabling affordable access and information to every Indian. In addition to it, the investment made will also help local businesses to move towards the digital transformation and AI field.
Taking it to Twitter, PM Modi wrote: “This morning, had an extremely fruitful interaction with sundarpichai. We spoke on a wide range of subjects, particularly leveraging the power of technology to transform the lives of India’s farmers, youngsters and entrepreneurs.”
