PM Modi to Dedicate Railway Projects Worth ₹1,535 Crore in Telangana
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to dedicate several important railway infrastructure projects worth approximately ₹1,535 crore during his visit to Telangana. According to officials from South Central Railway (SCR), the projects are expected to significantly improve railway connectivity, increase operational efficiency, and strengthen freight movement across the region.
One of the major projects includes multiple sections of the Kazipet–Vijayawada multi-tracking corridor covering nearly 118 kilometers. This corridor forms part of the busy Grand Trunk railway route, which handles a large volume of passenger and freight traffic daily. Officials stated that the additional railway lines will enhance track capacity, reduce congestion, improve punctuality of trains, and enable faster movement of both passenger and cargo services.
The expansion is expected to benefit industries, traders, and commuters by improving overall railway operations in Telangana and neighboring states. Railway authorities believe the project will also support future economic growth by strengthening transportation infrastructure in the region.
Another important project to be dedicated by the Prime Minister is the Kazipet Rail Under Rail Bypass. This strategically designed bypass aims to reduce congestion at the busy Kazipet Junction by allowing simultaneous train movements toward Hyderabad, Balharshah, and Vijayawada. Officials explained that the bypass will improve operational efficiency and reduce delays caused by traffic bottlenecks at the junction.
South Central Railway authorities stated that these projects form part of broader efforts to modernize railway infrastructure and improve transportation services across the country. Enhanced railway capacity is also expected to encourage industrial development and improve logistics movement in Telangana.
The Prime Minister’s visit and dedication of these projects are being viewed as a significant step toward strengthening railway connectivity in the state. Officials believe the developments will not only improve passenger convenience but also support long-term economic and infrastructure growth across the region.
