Pakistan squad afflicted with fever prior to pivotal Australia match in CWC 2023
The squad was scheduled to hold a practice session at M Chinnaswamy Stadium today (October 17) from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm local time. However, the session has been shortened to 8:00 pm.
Pakistan's media manager, Ahsan Iftikhar Nagi, stated to Wisden.com, "Although a few players developed fevers in recent days, the vast majority have since recovered completely. Individuals who are in the recovery phase continue to be monitored by the medical council of the team. Today, from 6 to 8 pm, Pakistan will conduct training at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Beginning their World Cup campaign in Hyderabad on a high note, Pakistan defeated the Netherlands and Sri Lanka in their first two matches. On October 14, they were defeated comprehensively by India in Ahmedabad.
The group would like to express its sincere desire for the player's speedy recovery so that they can all be physically fit and present for the October 20 match against Australia in Bengaluru. At present, they occupy the fourth position in the World Cup points standings, having accumulated four points across three encounters.
