Pappu Yadav Joins Congress, Merges Jan Adhikar Party Ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha Elections
Pappu Yadav, the chief of Jan Adhikar Party, made a significant political move by joining the Congress Party and merging his party with it at the party's headquarters in Delhi ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Accompanied by his son Sarthak Ranjan and other party leaders, Yadav announced his decision at the AICC headquarters in the presence of Mohan Prakash, the Congress affairs in-charge for Bihar.
A former five-time MP from Bihar and the husband of Congress Rajya Sabha MP Ranjeet Ranjan, Yadav holds influence in the Seemanchal area. Expressing his alignment with Congress ideology, Yadav praised Rahul Gandhi for his efforts in awakening the consciousness of the Indian populace through initiatives like the Bharat Jodo Yatra and Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
Highlighting Gandhi's dedication, Yadav commended his extensive travels, covering over 4000 km, despite challenges. He emphasized his commitment to fighting against "dictatorship" to safeguard democracy and the Constitution.
Earlier, Yadav's meeting with RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav sparked speculation of realignment, although Yadav affirmed his "family relations" with the RJD president. Taking to social media, Yadav discussed strategies with Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav to oust the BJP in Bihar, aiming for the INDIA alliance's success in various regions of the state.
