Pawan Kalyan Meets Chandrababu Naidu: Discussions on Rajya Sabha Seats and Key Issues
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at his residence in Undavalli on Monday. The meeting gained significance as it followed Pawan’s recent return from New Delhi, where he engaged with Union Ministers.
A major topic of discussion was the upcoming election for three vacant Rajya Sabha seats from Andhra Pradesh, scheduled for December 20. The vacancies arose after three YSRCP MPs resigned. Sources revealed that the TDP is keen on contesting two of the seats, leaving the third to be contested by either the BJP or Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party (JSP). Although the discussions between the TDP chief and the JSP president were reportedly intense, no final decision was reached.
The 30-minute meeting also touched upon the fourth phase of nominated posts. Additionally, Pawan Kalyan’s recent visit to Kakinada Port and his intervention in the alleged smuggling of PDS rice were discussed in detail. Pawan had ordered the seizure of a ship reportedly involved in the racket. The Chief Minister assured him that stringent action would be taken against those responsible and pledged to resolve the issue comprehensively.
The meeting underlines the growing collaboration between the TDP and JSP as they address political and governance challenges together, showcasing their intent to strengthen their alliance ahead of the elections.
