Pawan Kalyan Named Deputy CM as Andhra Pradesh Cabinet Announced

In a significant political development, JanaSena Party (JSP) leader Konidela Pawan Kalyan has been appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He has been allocated the portfolios of Panchayati Raj, Rural Development and Rural Water Supply, with additional charge of Environment and Forests, and Science and Technology. This marks a notable achievement for the 55-year-old actor-turned-politician, who was elected to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly for the first time, winning the Pithapuram seat.
The cabinet, led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, comprises 24 ministers, each entrusted with specific portfolios. Dr. P Narayana, the founder of the Narayana Group of educational institutions and a minister in the previous TDP government (2014-2019), has been reassigned the portfolios of Urban Development and Municipal Administration.
TDP state president K Atchennaidu will oversee Agriculture, Cooperation and Marketing, along with Animal Husbandry, Dairy, and Fisheries. In the previous administration, he served as a minister as well. Meanwhile, Nara Lokesh, the TDP national general secretary and son of the Chief Minister, will manage HRD, IT, Electronics, and Communications, continuing his previous responsibilities in these areas.
Satya Kumar Yadav, the sole BJP member of the cabinet, has been appointed as the Minister of Medical, Health, and Family Welfare. The state's Home Minister role will be filled by TDP leader V Anita.
