Ponnala Lakshmaiah met with KCR at the Jangaon public forum to formally join BRS
Ponnala Lakshmaiah, a former minister and senior leader of the Congress, paid BRS Chief K Chandrashekar Rao a courtesy visit at Pragati Bhavan on Sunday. The chief minister cordially welcomed the Ponnala couple and engaged in a brief exchange of ideas with them. Their welfare was inquired about by the Chief Minister.
MP Kesha Rao, leader of the BRS Parliamentary Party, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, senior party leader Dosoju Shravan, and additional guests were in attendance. KT Rama Rao, the working president of the BRS, invited Lakshmaiah to attend the celebration at his residence the day before the event.
Rama Rao, according to sources, was the one who persuaded Lakshmaiah to join the BRS. On Thursday, senior leader Lakshmaiah tendered his resignation from the Congress party. Upon becoming aware that the party would not be able to grant him a ticket, Lakshmaiah submitted his resignation. Lakshmaiah will now formally join the BRS during the public meeting in Jangaon on Monday.
