Prakash Raj Plans to Contest as Independent in 2019 Polls
After actors Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, Prakash Raj has decided to take the political plunge. Actor Prakash Raj announced on Tuesday that he will be contesting in the 2019 general elections as an independent candidate. According to the sources he is most likely to contest from Karnataka.
The actor’s tweet said, “Happy New Year to everyone...a new beginning... more responsibility...with your support I will be contesting in the coming parliament elections as an independent candidate. Details of the constituency soon. Ab ki Baar Janta ki Sarkar.”
Prakash Raj is known for his anti-BJP stance. He said that the kind of Hindutva propagated by BJP cannot work in India. In January 2018, Prakash Raj said, “They (BJP) say I’m anti-Hindu, no. I am anti-Modi, I am anti-Hedge, I am anti-Amit Shah. And according to me, they are not Hindus.”
The announcement on Twitter was received positively with over 1000 likes and comments congratulating and wishing him luck in his political endeavour.
