Pramod Sawant as Goa CM
Bhopal MLA Pramod Sawant will be sworn in as the next Chief Minister of Goa. He is likely to take charge on Monday night. The Manohar Parrikar died on Sunday after the Goa Chief Minister's office was vacated.
BJP national president Amit Shah, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Goa BJP legislators met in Panaji on the occasion of the new Chief Minister's choice. But the Congress has been requested the governor to invite them to form the government as Congress is the biggest state party.
At present, BJP has 12 MLAs while the alliance has 20. Congress is the largest party in the assembly with 14 legislators. Sawant is currently serving as the Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly.
