Pranab Mukherjee, Former President Of India Dies At 84

Pranab Mukherjee, the former president of India passed away at the age of 84 today, confirmed by his son Abhijeet Mukherjee.
Taking it to Twitter, his son Abhijeet Mukherjee wrote, “With a Heavy Heart , this is to inform you that my father Shri #PranabMukherjee has just passed away inspite of the best efforts of Doctors of RR Hospital & prayers ,duas & prarthanas from people throughout India, I thank all of You”.
He underwent a brain surgery this month due to blood clot in certain parts of brain and also tested positive for coronavirus when he was taken to Army hospital for the treatment of former.
After his condition deteriorated on Tuesday, he was soon shifted to ventilator and was kept under close observation. Though, he was hemodynamically stable for a few days then, his condition worsened on Saturday and he breathed his last today.
On work front, his political career spanned five decades. He was in the Presidential office from 2012 to 2017. But even before he assumed the highest office in the land, Pranab Mukherjee had been the backbone of Indian Government on more than one occasion.
Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President of India while giving condolences, wrote, “Shri Pranab Mukherjee brought dignity and decorum to every post held by him during his long & distinguished public service. My deepest condolences to the bereaved family members”.
Of his biggest achievements and honors, Pranab Mukherjee was conferred Padma Vibhushan in 2008 and Bharat Ratna in 2019.
