Premier KCR has spoken out against the detention of Manish Sisodia
After being questioned for almost eight hours by the CBI, Sisodia was taken into the custody.
Hyderabad: K. Chandrashekhar Rao, the Chief Minister of India and President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BRS), has spoken out against the CBI's decision to arrest Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, for his alleged role in an excise policy scam. A distraction from the Modi-Adani connection, he claimed, was all it was.
K. Chandrasekhar Rao, chief minister of Telangana and national president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), criticised the CBI's arrest of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in connection with the alleged Delhi Excise Scam.
The head of the BRS issued a statement calling it an attempt to deflect public attention away from the "Modi-Adani nexus."
One day after BRS's condemnation of the arrest, in which she called it "undemocratic" and "a witch hunt by the Centre against the opposition party leaders," we hear these remarks from KCR. On Sunday, Minister KT Rama Rao claimed that the arrest of the Delhi deputy chief minister was part of a bigger scheme by the BJP to misuse central investigating authorities against individuals in states where the saffron party did not win elections.
