Prime Minister Modi Files Nomination from Varanasi, Aims for Historic Victory Margin

Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially submitted his nomination papers on Tuesday to contest the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat, setting his sights on surpassing his previous landslide victories in 2014 and 2019. Accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, PM Modi arrived at the district collectorate where he personally filed his candidacy. The four proposers endorsing his nomination were Pandit Gyaneshwar Shastri, instrumental in the Ram temple consecration ceremony, along with Baijnath Patel, Lalchand Kushwaha, and Sanjay Sonkar.

Prior to filing his papers, PM Modi shared sentiments about his profound connection with Kashi, expressing its indescribable significance in his life. Echoing his 2019 campaign strategy, a grand roadshow preceded his nomination, drawing over 100,000 fervent supporters bedecked in saffron hues. Notable figures including Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah, as well as BJP President J. P. Nadda, joined CM Adityanath and other state leaders in the enthusiastic procession.

Commencing the day with a symbolic 'Ganga Pujan' at Dashashwamedh Ghat, PM Modi embarked on a cruise to NaMo Ghat, visiting the revered Kaal Bhairav temple before proceeding to formalize his candidacy. The Rudraksh Convention Centre hosted a gathering where PM Modi engaged with local party workers post-nomination. Noteworthy political figures, including Chief Ministers and leaders of NDA constituents, converged to extend their support and wishes to the Prime Minister.

With Varanasi slated for the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections on June 1, PM Modi's nomination marks the onset of an intense electoral campaign, as he seeks to secure a historic victory margin reflective of his enduring bond with the constituency.
