Prime Minister Modi Inaugurates National Academy of Customs in Andhra Pradesh, Joined by Governor and Chief Minister
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Andhra Pradesh's Sri Satyasai district was a blend of governance and heritage as he inaugurated the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN) institute. His presence drew a distinguished gathering, including Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer and Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Upon his arrival at Palasamudram, Prime Minister Modi embraced a multifaceted agenda, embracing a tour of NACIN's diverse departments, the symbolic planting of saplings, and warm interactions with construction workers. The occasion also witnessed Prime Minister Modi's engagement with trainee officers, where he unveiled 'Flora of Palasamudram,' a book that adds to the institute's knowledge reservoir.
In a significant gesture, Prime Minister Modi presented an accreditation certificate to NACIN and delivered an address that underscored the institute's critical role. NACIN, as an apex government institute, specializes in capacity building within the domains of indirect taxes, customs, drug laws, and environmental protection. Its international prominence is reflected in its status as the World Customs Organisation’s (WCO) Regional Training Centre for Asia-Pacific, along with its recognition as a collaboration centre for capacity building in environmental protection by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
NACIN Palasamudram joins the ranks of similar institutes in Ranchi and Raipur, fortifying the nation's capabilities in these essential areas. In a fitting conclusion to his visit, Prime Minister Modi paid homage to Andhra Pradesh's cultural heritage by exploring the magnificent Lepakshi Temple, a revered testament to mythological grandeur, housing shrines dedicated to an array of deities.
