Rahul Gandhi Slams EAM Jaishankar Over Pakistan Warning

Following India’s successful Operation Sindoor against terror camps in Pakistan and PoK, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has sharply criticized External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. Gandhi took issue with Jaishankar’s revelation that India had informed Pakistan before launching strikes, labeling the move “a crime.”
He questioned how many Indian Air Force aircraft might have been lost due to this forewarning. Jaishankar had earlier stated that India had messaged Pakistan, clarifying it was targeting terrorist infrastructure—not the military—urging non-interference.
This communication, made by India’s Director General of Military Operations Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai to his Pakistani counterpart, aimed to prevent escalation. However, Gandhi used social media to demand accountability: “Who authorised this? How many aircraft did we lose?”
While Air Marshal A K Bharti declined to disclose any aircraft losses during a press briefing, he affirmed that all IAF pilots returned safely and that objectives were fully achieved. The political row reflects broader tensions over how such sensitive operations are handled and communicated. Gandhi’s comments have intensified debate on transparency, national security, and military protocol in the wake of India’s aggressive anti-terror stance.
