Rain damage: Govt will help farmers, says KT Rama Rao.
KT Rama Rao, the minister of information technology, said that all state legislators and public officials should reassure farmers during this crisis.
Agricultural fields in several districts of the State have been devastated by unseasonable rainfall and high winds.
Reportedly, thousands of acres of paddy, mango, and other crops were destroyed in the districts of Mahabubnagar, Jogulamba Gadwal, Nagarkurnool, Narayanpet, Wanaparthy, Nizamabad, and Kamareddy.
On Tuesday night, 10 cattle, including oxen, were killed by lightning strikes in the Lingala village of the SS Tadwai mandal in the Mulugu district. So far in April, rains have damaged crops across 44,000 acres in Karimnagar, while heavy rains and hailstorms have impacted crops across 7,447 acres in Nalgonda.
The State government will stand by the farmers and take all administrative and relief measures to help them, KT Rama Rao, the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi and the minister of information technology, said.
The State's Minister of Agriculture assured farmers that the government would take action to recover from the losses caused by the rain and ordered members of the legislature and other representatives of the people to travel to the disaster zones.
