Raj Kundra Files Legal Action Over Defamatory Media Reports

Entrepreneur Raj Kundra has taken legal action against media outlets that made defamatory claims linking him to an illegal immigration case involving Riya Barade. Kundra, the husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, filed a case at the Juhu Police Station under Section 356(3) of the Bharruya Nyay Sanhita, 2023, following a court order. He accuses these reports, including a YouTube channel, of deliberately damaging his reputation.
In a statement, Kundra expressed frustration over the continuous media attack, stating that despite sending legal notices and requesting retractions, no corrective action was taken. "I have been compelled by the media to take this step," he said. "I have full faith in the law, and I don’t deserve to be judged guilty by a media trial."
The court has granted permission for a thorough investigation into the matter. Kundra remains hopeful that the legal process will restore his reputation and hold those responsible accountable. Previously, he and Shilpa Shetty received temporary relief from an eviction notice issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which had been connected to a money laundering case.
