Ram Charan to Inaugurate India’s First Archery Premier League

The inaugural edition of the Archery Premier League (APL) is set to begin on October 2, 2025, at the Yamuna Sports Complex in New Delhi, with a grand opening ceremony led by Global Star Ram Charan. As the Brand Ambassador, Ram Charan will officially inaugurate the country’s first franchise-based archery tournament, adding a dose of celebrity power to the sport.
The APL will feature six franchises, bringing together 36 of India’s best recurve and compound archers along with 12 international players, including some from the world’s top 10 rankings. Running from October 2 to 12, the tournament aims to spotlight Indian archery on a global scale.
In a groundbreaking move, the APL will introduce a mixed-format competition, where recurve and compound archers compete together under floodlights—a first in world archery. This unique format is designed to make the sport more thrilling and spectator-friendly, potentially attracting a new audience.
The initiative has received strong support from World Archery, World Archery Asia, and the Sports Ministry of India. With the Archery Association of India steering the project, the APL hopes to provide world-class exposure for Indian athletes while boosting the sport’s popularity.
Ram Charan’s involvement is expected to enhance the league’s visibility, given his global fan base. Officials believe the APL could mark a turning point for Indian archery, blending sport, entertainment, and international recognition in a way never seen before in the country.
