Ramya Krishna As Jayalalitha

Ramya Krishna is all set to play the role of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in the upcoming web series titled 'Queen', which is being directed by Gautham Menon. Apart from Ramya Krishna, this series also has Anika Surendran and Indrajith Sukumaran.

The teaser of this web series has been out on Sunday. This series is co-directed by Prasath Murugesan of Kidari fame. The teaser of Queen did not show the face of the versatile actress, but it begins with a young Jayalalithaa on the stage, receiving applause as a student.

The teaser features a young lady dressed in a white sari with the ADMK tri-color border and giving public speeches. The first season of Queen Web Series is planned for 11 episodes and is all set to premiere on MX Player.

The makers have revealed that based on the reception of the first season, the consecutive seasons will be scheduled. In the past, many Tamil series have been criticized for their below-par production values. Gautham has already informed his team that he will not compromise with the quality of the series.

The series is written by Reshma Ghatala and this web series Queen will stream in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. The trailer of this series will be released on 5th December. Interestingly, the director AL Vijay is making the same biopic on Jayalalithaa, which is titled Thalaivi, with Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut in the titular role. A Priyadarshini, a former assistant of Mysskin, is directing Nithya Menen in one more Jayalalithaa biopic, which is titled Iron Lady.
