Kabir Khan is going to direct a film based on India’s historic win over west-indies in 1983, clinched first world cup under legendary Kapil Dev captaincy. Ranveer Singh is portraying Kapil Dev. Punjabi star Ammy Virk is going to play Balwinder Singh Sandhu in this biopic sports drama.

As a birthday gift to his fan, Ranveer shared his first look as Kapil Dev from the upcoming film, ‘83. He plays former Team India captain Kapil Dev. Directed by Kabir Khan, 83 will tell the story of India’s historic cricket World Cup win in 1983. Ranveer’s wife and actor Deepika Padukone will portray Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Dev in the film. The film will hit the big screens on 10 April 2020. Apart from Ranveer, 83 also features R Badree, Harrdy Sandhu, Chirag Patil, Saqib Saleem, Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Bhasin, Ammy Virk and Saahil Khattar in key roles.
