Revanth Reddy Intensifies Attacks on KCR, BJP as Municipal Campaign Nears Close
With less than 24 hours remaining for the conclusion of the municipal election campaign, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy intensified his political attacks on BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) and the BJP during a public meeting in Bhupalpally on Sunday.
Addressing voters, Revanth Reddy accused KCR of abandoning public responsibilities and remaining confined to his farmhouse while civic bodies struggled with pressing issues. “Will KCR come and clean the drains if you vote by looking at his photo?” he asked, drawing sharp reactions. He also criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that the Prime Minister had never visited the region.
Responding to concerns over district reorganisation, Revanth Reddy dismissed claims that Bhupalpally district would be abolished, accusing the BRS of spreading misinformation. He assured that any future administrative restructuring would be undertaken only after public consultations and discussions in the Assembly, despite earlier statements by Cabinet ministers suggesting otherwise.
The Chief Minister also addressed apprehensions related to Singareni Collieries, stating that neither the medical unfit board nor hereditary employment would be scrapped. He promised to resolve the issues faced by 217 dismissed workers, though he did not specify a timeline or process.
Targeting Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, Revanth Reddy alleged that the BJP leader was shielding BRS figures in cases related to phone tapping, Formula-E, and other controversies. He claimed that the BRS and BJP were effectively “two sides of the same coin.”
Highlighting Congress’s governance record, the Chief Minister stated that his government had sanctioned ₹92 crore to Bhupalpally municipality and allocated thousands of crores to urban local bodies across Telangana, asserting that only the Congress could ensure sustained civic development.
