Revanth Reddy says Telangana Gig workers will get Rs 5 lakh accident coverage
As stated by the Telangana Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy, gig workers who deliver food and operate taxis and autorickshaws would receive accident insurance worth Rs 5 lakh from the state government.
As per the official statement released on Saturday, he additionally guaranteed the gig workers that the government would provide them with health coverage worth Rs 10 lakh through the 'Rajiv Arogyasri' initiative.
Participating in a meeting of cab and autorickshaw drivers along with food delivery administrators in Hyderabad, the chief minister stated the state government will provide social security benefits to workers in the unorganized industries and will make a policy decision in this regard.
According to the statement, Reddy pledged that the state government would research Rajasthan's current gig worker legislation and propose a functional bill during the upcoming state budget session.
He also said that the family of a food delivery professional who fell from a building four months ago will receive financial support of Rs 2 lakh.
