SC to Hear Kavitha's Pleas on Bail Denial in Delhi Excise Policy Case
The Supreme Court will hear BRS leader K. Kavitha’s pleas on August 12, challenging the Delhi High Court's decision to deny her bail in cases related to the Delhi excise policy scam.
The High Court had earlier dismissed her bail pleas, citing her as a key conspirator in the alleged corruption and money laundering case tied to the now-scrapped policy. The court stated that her involvement in the conspiracy was significant, making her ineligible for bail at this stage of the investigation.
Kavitha, daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in March, but she maintains that she is innocent and the charges against her are politically motivated.
